I've uploaded pictures from whale watching, Fraser Island (they're a bit dodgy because they are from a disposable camera) and Australia Zoo (Steve Irwin's zoo), which was BRILLIANT! There's a bit of Bindi Irwin overload going on - the poor girl is on T-shirts and water bottles and all sorts and her tv shows and music videos are all over the place, but the zoo is so hands on which is really good. There are many employees around that are so knowledgable and friendly and we had the chance to feed an elephant and kangaroos, and stroke a baby alligator and koalas. It was a really fun day out.
Thought I would share a funny moment from my day today. I decided to visit the Brisbane City Hall, which has a museum inside. Lo and behold, as soon as I walked in I was met with a display celebrating the centenary of the IStructE! Loved it! (I left a message in the visitors book for you Dad!) Then I got the lift up the clock tower to the viewing platform on one of those old-fashioned elevators with the see-through metal grills. We went up past the clock so I felt like I was in an old film like The 39 Steps, or going into the lair of a bad guy in a superhero film! At the top I was looking out, and little did I know that I was standing right next to the bells, and it was midday... nice!
The city hall was lovely and reminded me a lot of Leeds Town Hall :)
