FANTASTIC - BRILLIANT !!!!!  We heard last night through the Bairds that you had made it.  I thought you were still in Namibia involved in sand dunes, trying to get quad bikes off their backs, so it was quite a surprise to be fast forwarded.  Do give us a ring Hen.  I tried your 'new mobile' number, but was unceremoniously informed by a voice from outer space of your permanent disconnection!!!  We have some more numbers of a Capetown family. So get in touch - could mean real beds and hot meals - Actually you'll probably miss those cosy nights in the roof tent!!!!  So much love to you both.  Mum and Dad

11/29/06  5:28 AM  Eastern Time (Delaware County,Pennsylvania,USA):zip19050 The map says you're now in Cape Town, South Africa ..Congradulations! I've only read two books on Cape Town...I."Africa"(ISBN 0671628097) by author, Sanford J.Ungar which has a grand appendix(Pgs 495-518:re  Angola-Zimbabwe) inclusive of their "colonial or former names":e.g. Botswanda 's former name was Bechuanaland & was a Britain (protectorate) and gained independence 09/30/1966....and II.author, William Finnegan's "Crossing The Line,A Year In The Land of Apartheid..Finnegan taught a year at" Grassy Park Senior Secondary School"in 1980..(ISBN 0520088727)..There was an article in Philadelphia,Pennsylvania's "The Philadelphia Inquirer"(zip 19103) in '2004 by staff writer, Sudarsan Raghavan regarding a return to "Cape Town's District Six" by many who had been evicted in 1959(e.g. Dan Ndzabela ,age 82 & Ebrahim Murat, age 87)..the article was about District Six and "land issues" was according to the article a major issue for President Thabo Mbeki who was scheduled that week to be sworn in for a second term.11/29/06 abj

Congratulations!

Glad you enjoyed Namibia - I had an amazing time there in August.  The dunes are incredible aren't they?!

Hope you have a great time in South Africa.

Love,

11/27/06  3:29 PM (Eastern Time) USA  I happened upon your site"offexploring.com/london2capetown/ "due to an MSN article today on the Princes William and Harry regarding a charity that PrinceWilliam is patron of "Tusk Trust"..(They're also doing a benefit for Princess Diana in London next summer for another charity that their mother was involved in "Centrepoint".your pictures are great....Hope your journey nets you both "Ggreaaat" jobs(as Kelloggs Cereal's  "Tony the Tiger" would say) when you complete your journeys' goals..as the expression goes "Success is the Journey, not the Destination"....Hopefully some of my younger kin will be challenge themselves with some great adventure.  11/27/06 andreabjackson, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, USA

Killie 2 Falkirk 1

Scotland also beat the Pacific Islanders at Murrayfield - 30 odd points up at half time and then the Islanders (all Fijians, Samoans, etc) woke up in the 2nd half and scored some brilliant tries. Still, comfortable win.

Further to Alex' message, England finally beat someone - scraped thru v South Africa (you may have seen it given you were at Africat) by a couple of points right at the end having been 12 points down (more or less a South African reserve side though!).

Ashes start on Thursday. Looks like it may not be as grim as Alex said as England have done better in the last couple of games, but still fancy the Aussies to win.
