Well, it's been almost five months of teaching. Time flies over here. We work six days a week. Granted it's usually for four hours a day, five hours usually which includes grading homework and lesson planning. All that makes it go by fast. The Chinese calendar celebrates the Lunar New Year, this year it was on February 10th. Although it is just one day it is practically month long holiday in Taiwan, China and in other parts of SE Asia. That would be like Christmas to us Westerners. The schools give their hardworked kids a month break. That doesn't mean that our private school gets a month off, nope, but we do get a week off. It's almost been a full month of teaching! Wow, and it sure does make a difference! You have no idea. I once took a taxi home and had a long lesson about Taiwanese food fromthe driver. He said Taiwan food has four ways of cooking everything which is roasted, toasted, boiled and fried among many other things. I can see everywhere now that he is right!
