On Christmas Seth and I were able to go to a buffet dinner with other Native Speaking Teachers at a fancy hotel in downtown Taipei. Merry Christmas Eve! I'll just get into it: teaching. It's something I never saw myself doing. It never was a passion or even in my realm of consciousness when I thought about what I wanted to 'become' in my lifetime. But hey, here I am teaching in Taiwan! Look at that! We've been in Taiwan just shy of 10 days. And it's been crazy. Before leaving Colorado we packed all of our belongings into cardboard boxes. Those boxes are much lighter than a fancy suitcase which allowed us to pack close to 50lbs of necessities. A large suitcase for checked luggage weighs about 10lbs so we were able to use a cardboard to capitalize on the weight. I have written about Kenting alot. It mostly involves beach time and a few drinks which is true for this trip. But this time we spent two days there (instead of the typical one) so we were able to go to the national park for the first time. We rented an incredibly slow electric scooter and explored the park.
