Today (a very rainy day) we tried to find some stores (after we bought an umbrella) were we could buy us some beds. We had to get back in time, because of a phone conference of Dennis. We went shopping again, this time for kitchen items. On our way to the station we found bagels that were actually made from whole wheat. They could serve as breakfast even. At Yodobashi we just bought a water cooker, maho bin (hot drink container) and blowdryer. We had to be back in time for the TV installation people, which installed the settop box for us. In the morning a man came to our house, explaining that he was from NHK and that we had to pay a monthly fee. We didn't know about that! Combining that price with the cost of the settop box and tv subscription, watching TV is pretty expensive in Japan. Because of all the luggage we had, the train was not an option, so we had to take a taxi to the apartment. Together with Minami of Ken Corporation we checked the apartment for damages and got a tour of all the facilities. Japanese apartments sure have more technology in house than Dutch ones! The bath tub water is controlled by a panel on the wall, with which you can even fill it up automatically to a certain level and temperature. Each room has an aircondition...

It has been a busy week again. Monday we finally picked up our long-term Visa at the Japanese embassy in Den Haag. On Tuesday we sorted out which items we wanted to let the movers take to Japan (and we did not need for the first two months) and which items we wanted to take with us directly.
