I'm usually pretty prompt with writing these posts and I've never forgotten a single weekly update thus far. However, this was the first week that I have just thought of not writing anything because I had nothing positive to say. So all you potential travelers out there looking for inspirating, turn away now.
As you have probably notice, I've been sick for three weeks now and no sign of this letting up.
I had a few group presentations to do this week and I managed to get through them which was great.
However, by Friday, I had had enough. With my sidekick and faithful friend, Robin in tow, I ventured to the Vienna General Hospital- one of the largest hospitals in Europe.
Needless to say, the hospital is huge and very difficult to navagate through. Once I found my way, I had to pay 150 euros just to see the doctor. Not fun. Then an additional 35 euros for the blood test and x-rays. Given the fact that I am so sweemish when it comes to needles, I asked for Robin to sit with me while that portion took place. They then inserted a tub into my arm so that they could traw more blood if they needed to. Sooo gross.
While waiting, a woman began reading bible versus alloud. And then started crying when Robin explained that she couldn't speak German. That followed the woman with the shakes who I'm pretty sure was near her end. Not an optimistic bunch really.
The doctors (yes it was plural, I had three working on me) called me into the office. Turns out I have a lung infection and a small pneumonia.
I was percribed pain killers and an antibiotic. Not fun at all and another 16 euros.
And as I write this from my bed, which has been my resting place for the past three days, I am on my last antibiotic and still coughing away.
Let's hope this goes away. For the sake of my last few exams and for my upcoming trip to Munich.
*cough cough*
