Guys and girls! Been awhile, sorry about that - so now we made the flight and are happily in the grogeous New Zealand. Had reports of the blog sounding a little too alcoholic so will try to tone it down a bit (yea right!!).
Arrived in Auckland on a thankfully warm(ish) day and were hit by too things: the cheaper prices and awesome scenery. The kiwi bus is a great way to get around and see everything, drops us off at all the base hostels (tend to be where the best clubs are at). Stayed three days, one of which was spent at the least busy, and rather crappy theme park situated in the 'ghetto' of auckland. Bonus as we got to stay on the ride if we liked it without having to queue.
Next stop was bay of islands up north, where we went fishing and caught a stingray and an (arguably) large white snapper. Got on with the locals a treat, kiwis rock, we all agree. Moved back down to auckland for steves birthday which was a pretty decent night...We've met a bunch of great people on the bus and are now traveling full time with (one of them, nick, plays cricket and hockey some county level smiff!)
We then got taken to Rotorua, which for those that don't know is the place that stinks as it's full of geysers. Plenty of hot springs to sit in which was great as the place was freezing.
Moving south towards taupo, which is the adventure capital with cheap skydiving/bungee/white water rafting. Great place, unfortunately thhe weatehr was not kind to us. Got taken up 15 000 feet only to be told it was too cloudy and had to come back down, truely gutted, but there are plenty of other places to do it. The bungee options are awesome, spanning from off the auckland bridge at about 40 odd metres, to Ben nevis - around 130 metres. All of them have the option to do in the dark which some of us are very tempted by.
Headed further down to a more secluded area (the name escapes me) which was literally in the middle of nowhere, but has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. The place was made up of a vast cabin with roaring log fire in the centre and bunks everywhere (some slept 32 people). Here we did white water rafting grade 5.
Now in wellington (the capital) which has to be the best city so far, only been here one night, but so far great nightlife and can only hope to get another few chances to do sky diving.
will try update soon as i know a bit brief love to all xx
