Time to go home.........
Seattle - San Francisco - London - Geneva - La CLusaz
More space age travel whisked us out of the city to the Seattle airport where we managed to get our bags checked in all the way to London.
Unfortunately our plane was delayed by an hour and a half so we had our last America breakfast of cinnamon bagels and giant sized coffee.
Fortunately we had left plenty of time to catch our connecting flight in San Francisco, which was also delayed and gave us an opportunity to enjoy one last burger for lunch.
After nine hours, two films, diner, breakfast and a small sleep we landed in a rainy England. Fortunately the lovely Rich was there to meet us and we caught up on all the gossip from France while he deftly wove through the traffic to get me to Gatwick for my connecting last flight to Geneva.
With a quick reshuffle of the luggage and a hasty goodbye, hubbie and Rich set of for Heathfield and Brighton. I needn't have hurried though as my flight was delayed by two hours, which gave me enough time to grab some soup for my lunch/dinner and dairy milk for the Wendy and Janelle who greeted me with smily faces and big hugs when I landed at Geneva.
After a speedy hour to get back up the mountain I was home and tucking into a tasty Chinese meal with a glass of wine prepared by son number one.
I hope you've all enjoyed reading our family adventures, we had an awesome time, but it's good to be home in th company of friends, loved ones and Della the dog.
A big thanks to our numerous friends who took turns to look after her while we were away.Paul & family and Elaine & Terry for their great hospitality and Rich, Janelle and Wendy for all the meet and greets that helped us to get to all the places we needed to be : ) xxx
Best bits of the holiday:
Catching up with friends and long lost relatives
Friendly, helpful people (makes a refreshing change form France)
Not having my own ski kit
Learning not to leave things until the last minute
Saying goodbye to my sons after 2 weeks
Best places we visited:
City: San Francisco
Skiing: Mount Baker
Mind blowing: San Juan islands
Places I could move to: Sausalito, Orcas island
Santa Cruz (but we didn't see all of it)
