Day 2 strawberry picking;
Mark woke me up at 6:25am, having slept though my alarm (i think). I quickly had breakfast etc and then went to work.
There had been heavy due over night which mate it went and cold work for the first hour, but then the sun came up and it was beautifully warm again in the sun.
For the last few hours of the afternoon we were 'weeding' the patches where the strawberries grow, which is horrible compared to picking the fruit. You spend much more time hunched over so your back aches a lot. It's satisfying seeing how cleaned up the runs are after though. Today I also took a mini speaker and listened to music which makes it much better!
According to Greg, my boss, the farm is going to be getting busier and busier in the next few weeks and he will be looking for 2 more pickers next week. As a result I have secured a job for Carleigh if she wants it. It would be Awsome if she came up and work there too!
When I got back I was officially handed over the car from Fenellas mum - I took it for a quick spin, but I don't think the freedom has quite sunk in yet, or how lucky I am to be able to use it!
I went took Cesily and Diggors football training with Mark to watch/have a kick around which was fun.
Got back and had roast lamb for dinner which was amazingly good, then just wrote blog and got packed lunch ready before going to bed.
