Writing a day late...again.
I got up about 9am and had breakfast as usual. When Fenella got back from dropping off Diggor at school we went to see a farmer I will working for from Monday. I secured the job! I will work 5-6 days a week, for $19 an hour, between 7am and 3pm! I'm so glad to actually have worked sorted, and well paid work at that!
This farmer has had experience of dealing with Working Holiday VISA's etc before which is useful, and he may have work till September so I could potentially sign off my whole VISA with one employer which would be amazing!
Having sorted this Fenella and I went to walk/climb one of the local 'Glass House Mountains', about 15 minutes away, called Mt. Ngungun. It took about half an hour to get to the top, where the views were absolutely incredible. You could see all the way down to Brisbane Docks, about 70Km away.. Considering I'm not normally a fan I walking, I really enjoyed it. All my photos were taken via camera.
This sums up Aussie lifestyle - at the top of the mountain there were 2 middle aged women who own and run their own company. They had their iPhones, an iPad and some paper work, and we're doing some of the accounts at the top of the mountain! They claimed 'the view was better, and it was more fun'...
Having climbed back down we went to the base of one of the other mountains about 10 minutes away, but we couldn't climb it as it was closed due to rockfalls.
We came back to the house and had lunch at about 12:30/1pm, then Fenella had to go off to the vets with Moose the dog as he was limping.
Left to my own devices I got one of the Kyaks out, borrowed Diggors fishing rod and went floating around/fishing in the pond, in the horses paddock. This kept me busy for an hour and a half or so, but I'm not sure there is much in there big enough to catch..
When Fenella got home she had picked up Diggor from school and Moose from the vets. He had cut his pour and got it infected, so nothing overly serious.
Diggor and I got the Crayfish traps and took them down to the creek (big stream) at the bottom of their land and put them in. Hopefully tomorrow we will have something..
We messed about making damns and stuff, then it was about about 5:30pm and dinner time.
We had dinner and then 'The State of Origin' was on TV. This is basically a Rugby League series, played best of 3, between NSW and Queensland states. It's a huge event, like an American Super Bowl, due to a fierce rivalry.
In the end NSW won, so the series is 1-1 and it will go down to the final match in 2 weeks time.
I went to bed after the game as I was getting up early the next day..
