Wild Camp to Wild Camp
It rained in the night next to no sleep mostly cos my hand and wrist have swollen up and started to itch badly. While riding a couple of days ago I felt a stinging pain on my right wrist, I pulled over and it seemed to get worse took my glove off but couldn't see anything so convinced myself that it was the Velcro on the strap catching my hand, well it wasn't, the Doc's not sure what it is he says the last thing he saw like it was a spider bite, anyway it's swollen badly and beginning to go numb, he's given me something for it which seems to help the pain. So a wet breakfast and off we go, within a few kilometres Neil hits a patch of mud and slips into a rut, it smashes the cylinder head into the side of the rut and cracks the rocker cover and, unfortunately for Neil, brings the pannier down onto his left leg. It looks like our first serious injury he's in agony if he tries to put any weight on it so it doesn't look good. We've loaded the bike onto the trailer and splinted his leg. As all this takes several hours we decided not to go to Som Kul lake but instead to head for civilisation. I get allocated behind the truck so that I can use the radio if anything drops off - given my off road abilities that suites me fine I get a chance to look around at some of the best scenery I've seen since we left south America - fantastic place. We've not being going long before we have to stop because Neil's in agony, his foot is hitting the floor of the truck every time we hit a bump. After several of these stops it becomes clear we'll not make it to civilisation tonight so we stop half way there at a wild camp. Everything is going fine until the biggest thunderstorm I've ever seen rolls down from the nearby mountains talk about Mordor it was phenomenal a huge circle of black cloud surrounded the mountain then came rushing down onto the plain. We all had to get into our tents and hold down the outer covers to stop the things collapsing. I've never been in a storm were the thunder and lighting was coming from several directions at once. This is a wild place!
