Becks and Ross World Tour!

Harrison Hot Springs, British Columbia

Saturday 4 July 2009

The heatwave in the UK seems to have drifted over to us... phew...! Loving the hot weather but working with animals and on a farm in the heat can be thirsty work so we decided to have our first proper break (from our usual 7am start) and take off camping for a few days near Harrison Hot Springs. Just a 40 minute drive away from Hope we parked up at a campsite beside Deer Lake, within the Sasquatch Park (alledgedly where Bigfoot roams?!!!!) and settled in for a couple, of nights. Our plans to stay with friends in Kelowna for Canada Day fell through, so we were camping for Canada Day - awesome! The lake nearby had a fireworks display on the beachfront and hundreds turned up - plenty of mounties around though to ensure it was all good, clean fun! ;-)

Camping in Canada is quite a different experience to our usual in the UK - no hot water showers... no toilets?! Just long drops... hmmmm but the site was in a gorgeous setting and in this heat, you can just jump in the nearby lake to wash and cool off! We certainly celebrated Canada day in true Canadian style!
