A few days on a 100 ft yacht. included a trip to whitehaven beach (very white) a few days parked near the reef for snorkelling then a morning at hayman island to swim with Elvis.

Managed to see 2 turtles, 1 dolphin, 0 stranded ships, heaps of coral (some still alive), many fish, 0 sharks/crocs, one famous singer (in fish form).

Do need to work on snorkelling boat dismounts though - from 4 attempts managed to land head first on some hard coral with one and on the head of a fellow snorkeller with another!

Of 32 on the boat Stu and I were the only aussies - young german backpackers took the gong most attendees.

Highlight - probably the visit from the dolphin.

Lowlight - losing my hat overboard in a freak wind gust
