Australia, NZ and South America Flipflop Style.

Dunedin, New Zealand

Thursday 7 May 2009

The photo attached to this blog, was not taken by me, and really does not reflect my impression of the city. We did not actually stay here, the night before we had illegally camped by Lake Waihola, which itself was a pretty spot. The South Scenic Drive was nice and reminded us both of being back in England, rolling hills but maybe a few more sheeps than we're used to.

We then ended up driving straight through to Moeraki, after a brief stab at the tourist attractions on offer. Namely, Otago Penninsula, which frankly was a lot of effort to see what is effectively a bunch of overgrown seagulls. At $39 we gave the Albatross Experience a miss. The penguins were having too much fun out at sea this time of year so failed to put in appearance. There were seals, but where isn't there in NZ?!
