Landed in Mumbai from Delhi. Got a cool cab to alibaug, they said it would 2 hours but guess what-it was 4! Eventually got to sanman beach resort after a local had to show us the way. The outside doesn't look great but the Room is very nice and it's right on the beach, although its rocky not sandy and i probably wouldnt go in it. Most of the guys do not speak English so it's fun explaining things.
Went for a morning walk along the beach, just down a little there are water sports, lots of locals, think we are the only English here.
Went in to alibaug town on a tuk tuk, cost 400 rupies for the driver to be with us for 4 hours. Had lunch in a nice restaurant called lilite.
We are probably the only westerns here in Alibaug which is striving to become the new Goa. Everywhere you goBank, restaurant etc you get the manager and treated like royalty. Chelly had a reaction to some Mosi bite she got in Agra so we set up the Mosi net here as its in the middle of no where right on the beach. No more bites which is good. Took Chelly to local doctor who spoke excellent English. Gave her some pills and cream for the bites which only 24 hours later seem to be working.
Went fishing this morning C caught a medium size catfish. Sea very rough today, so not best time to go.
Off to local Market today with same tuk tuk driver or auto rikshaw as everyone seems to call it down here.
This is real India, no tourism, it heaven.
Only downside no wifi so these will all be posted after a couple of days.....update we are now the proud owners of a Indian data sim for iPad, it's a bit slow but means we can upload and check emails
