What a way to end it all! Cairns is amazing! Staying at Gillighans, possibly the greatest hostel ever. Pool, bar, club, gym, restaurant, free meals and great location. To top it all off today we went to the Great Barrier Reef. The sky was blue and it was HOT! Airlie beach, amazing sums it up. We walk into Nomads expecting an average backpackers and get a air conditioned pool (and bar) side house with a room and ensuite. The food is cheap and the atmosphere is great, to top it all off we then went on an ocean rafting tour of the amazing Whitsundays islands. This was holiday brochure pretty. Long white beaches stretching out into crystal clear blue waters with stingrays, little lemon sharks and metre long fish that we s...

Quick trip to Brisbane! Went to a very wet australia zoo and met a koala. Oh and enjoyed a night in the top bunk while my mysterious, bottom bunk occupying, german lady threw up her Jack Daniels. Off to Hervey Bay now to visit Frasier Island and thanks to a fortunate train screw up we are now travelling for four hours in BUSINESS class!!!! :D
Late blog for Surfer's Paradise. Went there for the Wet 'n' Wild theme park and it was worth it! Loads of rides and had fun just messing about on the lazy river. Shame we had to leave early because of a storm but we'd done almost all there was to do. Met some characters at the hostel who referred to us as 'pommes'. Not sure why but they were friendly enough.
