Hi Everyone,
Sorry its been so long since we posted anything up, I'm aiming to catch up with it all today, starting with our most recent adventure: Easy Riding in Dalat 18th April
We arrived in Dalat yesterday afternoon after a 5 hour bus journey from Nha Trang. Dalat is high up in Vietnam's central highlands so we appreciated the 24 Deg temperatures we were greeted with when stepping off of the bus! This made it a lot easier to trek over 500m uphill to our hotel, with bags on (including the newest bag with our suits from Hoi An inside).
Today we got up reasonably early and set about finding an 'Easy Rider' (a person who takes you to see local sites on the back of his motorbike). It doesn't take long in this town to find one, with in minutes of leaving our hotel we heard the familiar 'Hey you, you want easy rider!' from across the road.
Our easy rider was quite old and we hoped this meant knowledgable, he sat and waited for us to finish breakfast and then we hopped on the bikes Woo! The feeling was really cool once we got out into the mountains with fewer people on the roads and the easyriders opened up their engines a bit.
They stopped at loads of little local places; pig farms, silk factory, coffee plantation...(the list goes on). This was really cool as we felt we saw some proper local life here. They stopped at a beautiful waterfall as well where we met a freindly vietnemese couple and exchanges some sign language conversation.
After 5 hours on the bikes we were ready to get off of them, when we got back to town I (Alex) went staight to the local coffee house where they baked the locally grown coffee and bought myself a load of the stuff. Im looking at it now mmm. We're gonna grab some food in a minute and then tomorrow off to Mae Nae for some beach chillin and sand dune exploration.
Love
Alex and Sophie!
