Hi all,
Quick message from the smelly town of Rotorua, hot springs all over the place make it constantly smell of sulphur! We took a breif walk through a park in town and got a closer look at some of the springs before going to a 'Maori Experience'.
As expected the Maori experience was largely a tourist trap and not massivley authentic, we did learn a bit about the native history in New Zealand and see a genuine Maroi war dance, the Hukka (the one the all blacks do at the start of their games). We also ate a meal cooked in a native maori style oven, the best meal we have had since leaving the UK!
The next day we decided it had been too long since we did something active and went off for some white water rafting, down rapids with a 7m high waterfall (in the picture)! We got to the bottom of the rapids, thankfully in one piece about an hour ago. The rafting was really cool but we can't help feeling it was a bit tame after the sky dive (not quite sure if anything is going to match that).
Love
