Sorry its been so long since my last blog! Its been difficult to find decent internet so i will give you a quick catch up of my last 3 weeks starting with lovely Yangshuo - a town set right in the heart all the limestone karsts.
On our first day me and Teague hired bicyles and set of to explore the Yangshuo countryside aiming to find a bridge that the guide book recommended - 6 hours later, having come across numerous rice paddies, quaint villages, farmers and waterbuffalos - but no bridge, we gave up trying! It was such a beatiful journey and one of my favourite experiences in China! Getting lost in Yangshou isn't so bad after all!
The following days the region was hit by heaving rain - causing severe flooing in many areas. Being rained in for a fews days and with not mcuh else to do we ended up eating our way aroung town! This was when i dicovered my love of chinese dumlings!
So to help with my cravings i decided to learn how to cook them in a Chinese cooking class! Before the class we went to an interesting farmers market to buy the food. I loved the fresh veg and spices section - with women asleep on their stalls and groups of men wedged between stalls playing cards! The cooking class was great fun and our dishes actually tasted amazing - so quite a success!
